Consistent quality, happy dog

I've been a Butternut Box customer for over a year now, mainly getting the Fresh lamb dog food and sometimes the Air-dried treats. My latest delivery was just as reliable as all the previous ones. The packaging is always secure and the food arrives frozen solid. I've had to pause and restart my subscription a couple of times, and that process has always been straightforward through their website. My dog's coat is shinier and she has more energy compared to when she was on kibble. It's why I keep coming back, the quality hasn't dropped off at all.

Dog loved the chicken food

I got the Fresh chicken dog food for my dog a few weeks ago and she's been so much more excited at meal times. Setting up the subscription was easy and the food arrived pretty quick, like 4 days. It seems really fresh, which is a nice change from her old kibble. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Good deal for first box

I was looking to try some fresh food for my pug and saw Butternut Box had a new customer offer. I got 50% off my first box of Fresh beef dog food. It made trying it out much more affordable. The portions are good and my dog seems to like it. Definitely felt like I got a good value for what I paid, especially with the discount.

Smooth experience, good food

My recent order was for the Fresh fish dog food and some Dog dental sticks. The ordering process on their website was very intuitive; it walked me through customizing the meal plan for my dog's needs. Delivery took about 5 business days to reach me in California, which was within their estimated window. Everything arrived well-packed and still frozen. I had a quick question about transitioning my dog's diet, so I used their online chat support, and they responded pretty quickly with helpful advice. My dog has been eating it for a week now and seems to really enjoy the food. The dental sticks are also a hit. No complaints so far, a good service.

Hey, thinking about trying Butternut Box for my lab. He's got a super sensitive stomach, gets itchy with everything. Anyone with similar issues try this and see a difference?

T Tara 2 months ago
My pug used to scratch constantly and have tummy upsets, but since switching to their turkey recipe, he's been so much better. Took about 3 weeks to see a real change.

Yeah, my vet recommended it for my terrier who had chronic diarrhea. It's pricey but totally worth it for the peace of mind. They do specific recipes for sensitive tummies.

Does anyone know if that 75% off deal for the first box is still running? I saw it advertised somewhere but can't find it now.

T Troy 2 months ago
I think those really big discounts, like 75% off, usually pop up around holidays like Black Friday or maybe early January. Might be a 50% one going on now though.

They usually have a 50% off for new customers as standard. The 75% ones are more rare, sometimes you get it if you abandon your cart, worth a try!

Is Butternut Box actually better than something like The Farmer's Dog? Trying to decide between the two for my picky eater.

G Gwen G. 2 months ago
I've tried both! My dog preferred Butternut Box's textures, and I found their portioning a bit easier to manage. Farmer's Dog was good too, but BB won for us.

They're pretty similar quality-wise, both fresh human-grade stuff. I'd say check the ingredient lists for each and see which one has flavors your dog might like more. Also, compare the intro offers!

How much freezer space does this stuff actually take up? I've got a pretty small freezer and I'm worried about getting a huge delivery.

S Shane 2 months ago
It depends on your dog's size, but honestly, it takes up a fair bit. For my medium dog, a two-week supply fills about one and a half freezer drawers.

They send it in flat packs, which helps, but yeah, you need some dedicated space. Maybe clear out a shelf or two before your first delivery.

can you pick your own delivery days or is it just whatever schedule they give you?

P Paula Walsh 2 months ago
You can usually set a preferred delivery day in your account settings, but it's not always super exact. Sometimes it shifts by a day or so depending on their routes.

Yeah, I picked Tuesdays and it's pretty consistent for me. You can adjust it if you need to, like if you're going to be away.
